Approaching the end of 2009

So another Christmas is coming and still I am far away from home. Looking back to the year of 2009, so much I have achieved. To me, it is the year of success since I’ve finished Undergraduate degree and have obtained a pass into MBA course at Strayer University. Life in US is not exactly a treat for me, a lot of ups and downs, unexpected circumstances, etc… Fortunately, I’ve met so many wonderful people here that consistently help me out through rough moments. If those people read this blog, they will know that I am talking about them. Yes, I mean you. Thank you. More >

Life in the US

Time does fly, does it not? It has been three months since my arrival at Dulles Int Airport. I officially have finished my first MBA summer quarter with satisfied results. Honestly, I did not expect things to be going so well due to the fact that MBA courses are known to be tough. Strangely, i managed to survive pretty well during the first quarter. This is where I realize I am capable of doing more things that I thought I could not and begin to trust my ability to make a difference in my future. More >

First week in Virginia

My most recent achievement is obtaining an US visa to go there as a student following MBA course. Ever since I was born, I was taught to believe that USA is a land of opportunities, a land of anything can happen if you try hard. It has been a dream for me ever since I became sane. Things that I have been trying to prove to people surrounding me that I am capable of going there and being successful. Due to a sad history of my family, this dream has become even more indispensable to my life. Time goes on, this dream develops into something more formidable, it becomes the wants and the needs inside me. It is the obvious. More >

An off-day with memories

The 30th of April may be a fun day to some people but it is definitely not an exciting day for my family due to its historical value. It is agreeable to say that this day is the day which contains mixed emotions. Even though, I am not a person who dig into the past, I could feel the unsettled environment within my family. The tension arose among them was something detectable even to the dumbest person. More >

The trip to Hanoi

Another week of activities, the last few days were filled with walking and browsing around. Care to know what and where? Here is the answer, my family went to Hanoi for 3 days. The whole purpose of this trip is to attend the funeral of one of my relatives. It was a very emotional event and we all feel sorry for the loss of host family. I guess this is something that every human being has to go through several times in their lives. It is not pretty but it is that fact. More >
